"Once into my stride I tried to build a big enough lead to see it through but, towards the end, I realised that Sbirrazzuoli had managed to catch me. I had no option but to hold onto my position until the chequered flag. The Trofeo Maserati could not have started any better".
Cedric Sbirrazzuoli - AF Corse (2nd):
"It was tough finding enough grip in this race as I was trying to preserve the tyres. I thought the track might have dried out quicker but it didn't. I closed in on Romagnoli towards the end and tried to get past him. I thought I had another lap to run but up popped the chequered flag. I would like to compliment Riccardo on his win".
Alan Simoni (3rd):
"I had a bit of luck, which never hurts. I got off to a good start but didn't really overtake much. It was slippery out there and I had to be really careful. I was pretty consistent for the whole of the forty minutes. Behind me Dromedari threatened at times but I didn't let him put me off and I finished an excellent third. I would like to end by sending a thought out to the people from my part of Italy who have been affected by the earthquake...".
