"I stepped on the gas and tried to build an advantage. My only concern was how to deal with the back markers; this morning I missed out on second because of the drivers at the back of the field. Luckily it didn't happen again, 40 minutes in, I relaxed. Thanks to this win I now lead the Overall standings".
Max Pigoli - Swiss Team (2nd Overall - 2nd Team): "I got off to a good start and moved up from sixth at the start to third by turn one. Romagnoli then bumped into me but he said that someone had nudged him. It was a surprise but I recovered from the spin and was still in the same position. A few laps later I was called in for a drive-through because of a false start. I don't understand the decisions these officials make because I think I followed the rules and didn't overtake anyone before the line".
Andrea Dromedari - Swiss Team (2nd Overall - 2nd Team): "I didn't finish either race at Portimao. Here at Imola, thanks to my team-mate and friend Pigoli, we secured a second spot. The luck we missed out on in Portugal was on our side here. It was tough but, despite everything, we managed to make it onto the podium. I would like to congratulate Kuppens who was uncatchable in this race".
Alan Simoni (3rd Overall - 1st Trofeo): "I didn't have the greatest of starts: Kuppens overtook me and I was hit from behind. The whack was pretty violent and I ended up in the gravel. Luckily I managed to get the engine going and found myself in last place, quite a way off the pace. I then started making my way through the field until it was time for the driver change. My team-mate, Ragazzi, clashed with Sernagiotto at Tamburello: I think that our rival's move could have been avoided. As it was, Ragazzi was hit with a stop and go. I think this was the wrong decision".
