"I tried to stick with Kuppens early on but then realised that he was too quick; I opted to not take any risks and look after the tyres instead. Kuppens then punctured and this opened the door for me to cross the line first, allowing me to celebrate my fourth win. Added to this are my two second place finishes and so it was quite a good season all round. I would like to thank the Maserati staff for their organisation and the drivers who I raced against. It was a fantastic year and I also hope to compete in the Trofeo in 2013".
Alan Simoni (2nd Overall, 2nd Trofeo): "I didn't have any major problems and never had to perform any big overtaking moves so it was pretty easy to finish on the podium by making the most of my starting position. I am disappointed about the mistake I made that affected Venier: I would like to apologise publicly.
I spent most of the forty minutes controlling the lead I had over the drivers behind me. If I'm honest, I have to say that I'd never have caught Sernagiotto today. Still, I am pleased with how we did overall and would like to thank Maserati for giving me the chance to drive on three continents. This would have otherwise been impossible for me.
I am pleased to be here and for having taken the win alongside my team mate. All season long he has been truly exceptional and I would like to acknowledge that".
Mathijs Bakker (3rd Overall, 3rd Trofeo): "It was special driving in China as my brother has lived in Shanghai for eighteen years and so, for me, it was like a 'home' race. I came fourth in yesterday's opener but managed to make the podium today. For an over-50 like me, it's comparable to a win".
I would like to thank Maserati for organising such a great series. I competed in four races and always enjoyed it: the atmosphere is fantastic and the guys are amazing. So: thanks, Maserati".
