"In an instant two tough rivals were out and I was in the lead. I had a great duel with Kuppens but don't think we were going flat out: he was rightly holding back and thinking of the title rather than this race win. Then Barde, who was pacy throughout, caught me and tried to get past in a stretch where overtaking is almost impossible. We clashed and I lost a bit of ground. I tried to hit back and ended up finishing in second. The race officials then hit Barde. with a 10-second penalty and awarded me the win which, perhaps, I deserved.
Running the rule over the season, I have picked up five podiums and two wins in six races. I am proud of what I have achieved and truly pleased to have competed in this year's Maserati Trofeo. I would recommend the series for its organisation, atmosphere and good feeling between the drivers. Another highlight was the car and the circuits".
