"As for me, I am pleased at getting my first win in the Maserati Trofeo. I managed to take the lead at the start and just never let go. I settled into a rhythm and carried on while keeping an eye on the fight going on behind me. I would like to thank Swiss Team for putting together such a fine car. I could have gone even faster but didn’t want to push too much”.
Riccardo Ragazzi (2nd Overall, 1st Trofeo): “At turn one I found myself in second behind Dromedari. I tried to catch him but it didn’t take too long to realise that I was much slower than he was. I then opted to defend my position, something I was even more set on doing once the tyre wear kicked in. Ange Barde only got by because I knew that the officials had hit him with a drive through. It was a close thing with Romagnoli and Venier toward the end as we all went for the podium”.
Fabio Venier (3rd Overall, 2nd Trofeo): “I was in behind Venier, Romagnoli, Ragazzi and Barde: a quartet that livened up the whole race. I tried to stay focused and make the most of any mistakes. Things got messy at a few stages and the drive through made things even more interesting. I only realised I had made the podium afterwards. I am sorry about clashing with Romagnoli right at the end but he was really close to me and, when I skidded out of a curve, this made him spin off”.
