"This is my first time here and it would help if I spent some more time getting to know it. The car is very well balanced on this circuit and there is lots of grip; I am really enjoying it. The temperature is ideal for racing; much different to Imola. I don’t know what to expect in the race because the competition will be hard to beat. Even so, I hope I do well”.
Adrien de Leener: “This is the only circuit on the calendar that I really know and so I couldn’t wait to get here and see how things turned out. The second free practice workout went great and I came ninth. I finished tenth in the first qualifying session and this bodes well for tomorrow. In the second session there was loads of traffic. I was the quickest out there during my last shot but I made a mistake and lost those precious tenths that would have qualified me in seventh or eighth. I will try to make up for it tomorrow”.
Jaime Carbò Fernandez: “I am back in the Maserati Trofeo after having an excellent time at Portimao. You have to get used to the weight of this fantastic car: you have to build up confidence to judge the braking well and come out of the curves quickly. I have realised that it is crucial to keep an eye on the tyre pressure. Thanks to these strategies, I think I have improved since my last time out. I really like the whole Maserati feel, one that is very professional. I am aiming for 15th at best in tomorrow’s race. That, for me, would be a good result”.
