"It was brilliant because you all know how hard it is racing in a new series and on a new circuit. I am over the moon. It was tough and the other drivers are top-drawer. Ragazzi was quick and I had the nagging worry that he would catch me. I have the safety car to thank for my being here now. Overall it was a great car and great race run at a very high level. I am proud of what I pulled off today".
Riccardo Ragazzi: "In terms of the championship it was a good result as Kuppens, the overall leader, didn't make it to the finish. He didn't get any points and Sernagiotto races tomorrow. I am pleased to have come second as it was tough out there and hot too. I think I could have challenged Popow for first place if the safety car hadn't come on. I think that Simoni, my team-mate, could do well tomorrow. He starts sixth but is quick enough to be among the leaders. As for Race 3 with the driver change, there we will be going for the win".
Andrea Dromedari: "I came here to Sonoma but didn't know the track. I intended to make up a few points in the championship; my aim was to play a waiting game because I didn't have the pace of the front three. In the end this strategy paid off as I picked up a few points. There are still two races to run tomorrow and things could get even better".
