The usual 38' plus a lap races will be extended to 48' and a lap. The extra time means that drivers will spend 10 minutes longer behind the wheel. Breaking things up will be the obligatory stop that has to be taken between the 20th and 30th minutes. This will last 45 seconds and the car's engine must be switched off.
As the races are longer, the points on offer are calculated differently with 18 points going to the winner, 13 to the second-placed driver, 9.5 to the third, 7 to the fourth, 5 to the fifth, 3.5 to the sixth, 2.5 to the seventh and 1.5 to the eighth.
