"Here I have the advantage of having tested at Ricardo Tormo, a circuit that is much shorter and less difficult that the one in Belgium. Even so, it is more technically demanding. I hope to improve and beat my dad after these few minutes in free practice because we have a bet on..."
Mark Kroes: "I can't not be pleased with this first session: I came sixth in my second ever Trofeo Maserati race. This came after finishing fourth at Donington. I have never driven a Maserati before in twenty years of racing different marques. I have never won a championship before but have always come in the top ten. I am here because my friend Mathjis Bakker recommended both the championship and the car; I have to say he was right. I made the most of the whole session to take a good look at the track and to try to find the right tyre pressure for the race. Today the result wasn't important as I only had to get to know the track ahead of Sunday. Of course I will be careful not to get in the way of drivers going for the title".
Carlo Romani: "Valencia is a track for those who know how to drive and for those with good technical handling. I have appeared here a few times in previous Trofeo Maserati series and I have always tried to do my best and enjoy myself; I managed it again today. I would say that the overall level of the drivers is higher today than in the past. There are some really talented guys out there and for gentleman drivers like me it is that much tougher".
