Gaetano Ardagna (2nd overall, 1st Trofeo): “It was almost too easy… I don’t like winning like this. I would have preferred to battle it out with other drivers rather than drive when many of the others crashed out early. Luckily, no-one was hurt.
When the safety car left, Cedric, who was in a different category to me, was much too quick. So, I chose to settle into my own rhythm and it went smoothly apart from a little tyre problem towards the end”.
Andrina Gugger (3rd overall, 2nd Trofeo): “It was not an easy race. The crash shortened the racing time. When we got going again, I managed to climb a few places up to second. When my gears locked near the end I thought I had thrown it all away. Luckily the gearbox came back to life and I made it onto the podium again after my third place at Monza”.
Guy Fawe (4th overall, 3rd Trofeo): “I am pleasantly surprised at my result. This wasn’t what I was expecting after what happened in free practice and qualifying. Also, the rain that came down over the past two days didn’t really help me get to know the layout. There were a few crashes in my race and I tried to steer clear of them. I did have the chance to catch Andrina but opted to keep hold of my spot because the tyres were feeling it”.
