He had the look of someone who had just pulled a superb drive out of the bag. Fifth spot in the second qualifying session, just five tenths off Ivan Capelli, pleased the driver from Catania no end:
“Qualifying went well and I am pleased. The only thing I'm not over the moon about is dropping from second to fifth in Qualifying 2 in the space of a few seconds! Jokes aside, we are all bunched together and the race should be a close one and maybe exciting too".
Moncada's showing was tempered by Marco Petrini's drive. Petrini will compete in race 1 in the same car:
"I really don't know what happened out there. I couldn't get into a rhythm. It was like I was in a completely different car to the one I had driven up til then. I really wanted to do well here at Monza because I love the track. My only hope is to make a comeback in the race".
