Smurra, needs a fine tuning

Smurra, needs a fine tuning

After his solid display at Zolder, Emanuele Smurra seemed to have refound his 2003 touch.

At Brands Hatch though, he couldn't make an impact on the race. It wasn't that the Roman underperformed, just that some of the grit he showed at Belgium was missing.

"I was fairly pleased with how the race went", began Smurra. I managed to climb two places at the start and set about catching Petrini. I thought I might catch him but then he turned up the pace and those hopes disappeared. Petrini managed to get away after I made a mistake at turn seven and so I focused on keeping my tyres in good shape. I was actually closing the gap when Necchi steamed up behind me. I thought that it would be best if I matched his pace but I couldn't and ended up in eighth".
