After checking out where to attack the Italian over the previous few laps, Segler lost control of his GranTurismo MC Trofeo after straying off the ideal racing line and into the dirt.
"I was trying to get past La Mazza at the start of the pit lane straight", explained Segler.
"But he changed direction suddenly, meaning that I ran off the track and put my tyres on the grass. I then lost control and the car crashed into the wall. Luckily, nothing bad happened but I had to retire. I had been trying to overtake for a few laps but my tyres were worn out I couldn't do it".
