The Bartels/Bertolini duo in the No.1 Maserati clocked the best time in all three sessions of official qualifying with a time of 1:55.441. Alongside them on the starting grid is the No.2 Vitaphone Racing Team car, driven by Bernoldi/Ramos, who both set fast times in the second and third sessions, closing out in 1:55.836.
Maserati's fine day in qualifying was completed by Margartis/Heger's splendid seventh place in the No.33 Triple H Team Hegersport car, with a time of 1:56.984. The other Triple H Team Hegersport car made an exit in session 2 with Longin unable to better the 1:56.364 set by Bobbi in the Qualifying 1. The No.34 Maserati will start from eleventh.
The Qualifying Race will kick off on Saturday 22 May at 17.30 and will see the first championship points assigned. The weather is still anyone's guess with extremely variable conditions forecast.
