Spa-Francorchamps - BEL

The Maseratis slowed by ballast

Variable weather with a track that gradually dried out characterised official qualifying at the fifth round of the FIA GT1 World Championship at Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium.

The Maseratis worked on the set up and tyres during the session but were hampered by the traffic. The ballast also played a role in slowing Bartels/Bertolini's No.1 MC12.
Longin/Verdonck from Triple H Team Hegersport (in the No.34 Maserati) made it into Q2, as did Bernoldi/Ramos, from Vitaphone Racing Team, who closed out in tenth overall.

In Q3, the two Belgian drivers in the Triple H Team Hegersport car improved again, posting 2:18.373. The time was good enough for fourth.
