Müller stopped the clock at 1:27.464, behind pole man Anthony Kumpen (Corvette C6R) by only 65 thousandths. This performance confirms the German driver's and the MC12's speed potential, already made evident in other qualifying practices. It will give him and his teammate Miguel Ramos greater chances to aim for podium success in tomorrow's race.
This qualifying session saw very small time gaps between drivers: the first six arrived within seven tenths of each other. Wearing the Vitaphone Racing DHL team colors along with Matteo Bobbi, Alessandro Pier Guidi qualified his MC12 n° 33 in third place, just 190 thousandths from pole position.
Classification leaders in the championship, Andrea Bertolini and Michael Bartels will start off from third row, after getting the sixth best time (1:28.183). The Italian driver, who drove today, was penalized by the display of the yellow flags in the second sector, which thwarted his attempts with the use of new tires.
Tomorrow the race will start at 1:15 pm local time and will last two hours. This race will decide the award of the drivers' title.
