Michael Bartels: «I am disappointed with our result because we didn’t expect to finish in fifth. However, we have to accept the verdict of the track and look ahead to the coming races. We have shed a bit of weight for Paul Ricard but the championship is still wide open and we will have two tough and intense tests. I think that our car’s consistency merited a place on the podium and the fact that we were nudged by the car that went on to win is testimony to this».
Alessandro Pier Guidi: «The driver change went well but the tyre wear that Matteo experienced continued during my stint so we had to slow down just past the halfway stage of the race. The ballast also played a part but this will be less of a problem in the next round».
Andrea Bertolini: «It is a shame because everything was in place for us to do well but the puncture spoiled it. I think I ran over some debris (from an earlier crash, Ed) when overtaking a GT2 car on the straight and this caused the puncture. We lost nearly a lap and this meant making another comeback. I tried to get past Bernoldi’s Corvette towards the end but it didn’t come off because of the ballast and the difference in power between the cars. The Brazilian changing his racing line twice didn’t help things either…».
Alex Müller 2: «I think the safety car put paid to our plans as we were leading comfortably and in control and suddenly that all changed. It is a shame as we didn’t have any win ballast on board and so were in with a shout of victory. We have showed how quick we are with the three pole positions and now we just need our luck to turn. We have made some progress compared to previous races and we hope to continue this form in the next two».
Miguel Ramos: «I am really pleased to be on the podium in my home race. I am certain that we would have done even better had the safety car not appeared. Still, we can’t complain. Alex really pushed hard and the podium place that we have missed out on because of recent bad luck was ours».
