In Friday’s free practice session, the No.1 car driven by Bartels/Bertolini set the quickest lap. This morning it was the other Maserati to claim the honour when Ramos stopped the stopwatch at 1:25.147 on his thirteenth lap.
Along with his Portuguese partner Alex Müller, he bettered by some margin the fifth fastest time he started the session with. Bartels/Bertolini came in fourth with 1:25.506, a few tenths down on the lead car.
Like the day before, the first seven drivers are bunched within a second of each other.
The morning stint was affected by the rain that began to fall soon after the start. The field did not waste any time in coming into the pits to mount wet weather tyres.
Qualifying will be held this afternoon from 17.15 to 17.50.
