The scuderia that puts out Hezemans/Kumpen’s Corvette Z06, current championship leaders, asked race commissioners for clarification on the points after the 24 Hours of Spa. In the race, the Nissan GT-R, a vehicle that conformed to the 2010 FIA GT regulations, placed third.
Initially, the Japanese GT was not considered for GT1 points and the points for third place were assigned to Bertolini/Bartels.
Now, after a press release at Budapest and having taken into account team Pekaracing’s letter, the regulations and the race result, the Nissan GT-R has been awarded third spot. This alters the overall points situation as Hezemans and Kumpen now have a lead of two while the ballast for the Maserati crew has dropped to 80 kg.
