At the wheel of the GranTurismo MC, it was a great result and one that matched his best ever qualifying position. The AF Corse driver benefited from Martin-Sougnez, provisionally in pole, having their time cancelled because of a technical irregularity with their Porsche.
Casé (1:42.44) will start behind Moore-Osborne (1:42.00) and Abbott-Fletcher (1:42.08), both in a Ginetta G50.
This first qualifying stint was run in perfect weather and warm sun. Race 1 promises to be tough. It gets underway at 9.05 on Saturday and will last a maximum of 40 minutes.
The driver, who races for Amato Ferrari’s team, covered the 4.184 km Belgian circuit in 01:42.83, just three tenths off pole. Pole position was taken Martin-Sougnez’s Porsche 997 GT3 but then handed to Moore-Osborne (1:42.51) in a Ginetta G50.
Next came Michael Mallock (1:42.52) in an Aston Martin GT4 and Tom Dunstan (1:42.59), also in a Ginetta G50. Race two will start at 13.10 on Saturday and last 40 minutes max.
