Third place for Casé in Qualifying 1

20/08/2009 - Zolder
The opening qualifying session to determine the starting line-up for race 1 ended with an excellent third spot for Lorenzo Casé.

At the wheel of the GranTurismo MC, it was a great result and one that matched his best ever qualifying position. The AF Corse driver benefited from Martin-Sougnez, provisionally in pole, having their time cancelled because of a technical irregularity with their Porsche.

Casé (1:42.44) will start behind Moore-Osborne (1:42.00) and Abbott-Fletcher (1:42.08), both in a Ginetta G50.

This first qualifying stint was run in perfect weather and warm sun. Race 1 promises to be tough. It gets underway at 9.05 on Saturday and will last a maximum of 40 minutes.
