Andrea Bertolini on the front row
Adria – Andrea Bertolini placed himself on the front row for the third round of the FIA-GT at Adria.
The driver from Modena set a qualifying time of 1'11"802 at an average of 135.470 km/h, just 71 thousandths off Swiss driver Fässler, in pole.
The other Vitaphone Racing team Maserati had to deal with 55kg of ballast after taking second at Monza but still did very well. Alexander Negraõ set the fourth fastest time of 1'11"916, the quickest of the cars with on-board ballast.
Unluckily though, an accident between Miguel Ramos and a GT2 car during the morning was judged illegal by race officials and the Maserati was penalised five grid places; tomorrow Ramos/Negraõ will line up on row five. The aim for the Vitaphone Racing team will be to consolidate its lead in the Teams’ championship and make up the three-point gap between Bertolini/Bartels and Bouchut/Maassen in the Drivers’ standings. The third MC12, prepared by the Monaco based JMB Racing and driven by Alain Ferté, is on row sixth after clocking the eleventh quickest time.
