Comments after the race at Zhuhai

Andrea Bertolini: «We will take the positives from this race: the performance of the car and the Pirelli tyres.»

Giorgio Ascanelli: «I cannot say that I am happy at how the race went. Errors by both teams affected the results even though the entry of the safety car took the chance of victory away from Biagi and Bartels. The car again performed very well as Biagi and Bertolini’s fastest lap time showed, one that continued their pole form. The performance and consistency of the MC12s were similar even though their tyres were different. There are still nine races left and we can and must improve».

Andrea Bertolini (2):
«The clash at the start was a real shame and I had to recover from it. We were the fastest on the track and made up many places. I asked a lot of the tyres and was forced to up the tempo towards the end of my stint. We have high hopes for the future and will work in testing at Estoril to develop the tyres».

Comments after the qualifying at Zhuhai

Thomas Biagi: «This is the first pole of my career and I am very pleased as I have been chasing it for a long time».

Christian Montanari: «Qualifying was okay but this morning, after free practice, we were much happier. The race will be a long one and the weather will play a determining role, meaning that anything is possible».

Thomas Biagi (2): «It wasn’t an easy session as we had a dry track for the first time. Without many reference points, I tried to give my best on a clean lap. Luckily, the time clocked was a quick one. I will celebrate this pole but will also focus on the race. Our adversaries are tough and their times are close to ours».

Andrea Bertolini: «We had a lot of understeer, especially early on with the slicks. We could have aimed for a higher placing but we are pleased because the balance of the car is spot on and right for the race. This can be seen from the fact that the lap times fell as qualifying went on. This year we had to focus on the race and the consistency of the tyres more than in recent years».

Alessandro Pier Guidi: «I drove on a dry track for the first few laps of qualifying. I had to conserve the tyres for the race and preferred not to take any risks. I expect to do better in the race. The car and the Pirelli tyres are in fine shape, even as regards consistency».
